![]() ![]() If you added the card later you should have gotten a disk or cd with the card. If the card came with your computer you should have gotten a disk or cd that contains all the drivers for your system. This is important because it will give you clues on how to find the driver. You either got the sound card with your computer or you added it later. If you do you’re in good shape, you just need a driver. You should see something like PCI Multimedia Device expanded under Other Devices. Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, System, Device Manager. If it worked before you blew the hd off its not a hardware or BIOS problem, its just the driver. The sound system gets installed automatically when you install the proper driver for your sound card. You may also want to first check and make sure that the cable from the pc to your speakers hasn’t some h If that doesn’t work you may have a bad card, but If it was working before the win95 reload it should still be fine. then you willhave to download the drivers and install them. Hopefully your be able to get the manufacturer and model info from the card. ![]() if not you will have to open the machine and look at the sound card. you can try doing an add new hardware through control pannel to see if the os can detect your card. If you can’t find them then the real fun begins. If you have the original disks your pc came with look for sound card drivers. ![]() expand the sound card game port section and see if you see a card listed there. Check this by right clicking on my computer and selecting properties. If you mean no sound at all then I would start by checking the device manager to see if a sound card exists in the hardware list. ![]()
